سعادت حسن منٹو سعادت حسن منٹو زندگی، شخصیت اور فن کا جائزہ پیدائش : ۱۱ مئی ۲۱۹۱ئ بہ مقام : سمرالہ (ضلع لدھیانہ) وفات : ۸۱ جنوری ۵۵۹۱ئ خاندانی نام: سعادت حسن ”منٹو“ سعادت حسن کی ذات تھی منٹو اس بارے میں لکھتے ہیں۔ ”کشمیر کی وادیوں میں بہت سی ذاتیں ہوتی ہیں جن کو ”آل“ کہتے ہیں۔ جیسے نہرو، سپرو، کچلو، وغیرہ ”نٹ“ کشمیر زبان میں تولنے والے بٹے کو کہتے ہیں۔ ہمارے آباﺅ اجداد اتنے امیر تھے کہ اپنا سونا چاندی بٹوں میں تول تول کر رکھتے تھے۔۱ والد کا نام : مولوی غلام حسین بڑی بہن : اقبال بیگم اباو اجداد  علامہ اقبال کی طرح منٹو کے اسلاف بھی کشمیری پنڈت تھے۔ منٹو کے جدامجد خواجہ رحمت اللہ اٹھارویں صدی کے اواخر میں کشمیر سے ہجرت کرکے پنجاب کے دارالحکومت لاہور میں آباد ہوگئے۔ وہ سوداگر تھے اور پشیمنے کا کاروبار کرتے تھے۔ ان کے بیٹے خواجہ  ۱ سعادت حسن منٹو ”میری کہانی“ ماہنامہ علم و ادب۔ سالگرہ نمبر ۲۵۹۱ئ عبدالغفور تھے اور خواجہ عبدالغفور کے بیٹے خواجہ جمال الدین منٹو کے دادا تھے۔ انہوں نے لاہور کے بجائے امرتسرمیں مستقل رہائش اختیار کر لی۔ ان کے پانچ بیٹے...

"بگل والا: خودداری، آنسو اور بے رحم نظام کے خلاف آخری بغاوت۔" یہ کہانی مجھے اُس نے سنائی جس کا اِس سے کوئی تعلق نہیں لیکن اُسے اصرار ہے کہ اس کہانی سے اُس کا بڑا گہرا تعلق ہے۔ یہ ایک عام آدمی ہے اور ایک عام سی جگہ پر مجھے اچانک ہی مل گیا تھا۔ شاید اچانک نہیں کہ میں اس کا منظر تھا اور اس سے یہ کہانی سننا چاہتا تھا۔ کہانی کا زمانہ بیسویں صدی کی پہلی، دوسری، تیسری یا کوئی بھی دہائی ہو سکتی ہے۔ انیسویں صدی بھی ہو سکتی ہے اور شاید اکیسویں صدی بھی۔ بہرحال زمانے سے کیا فرق پڑتا ہے، جگہ بھی کوئی سی ہو سکتی ہے۔ یہاں وہاں، کہیں بھی، لیکن نہیں یہ کہانی وہاں کی نہیں یہیں کی ہے۔ کرداروں کے نام بھی ا، ب، ج کچھ بھی ہو سکتے ہیں کہ نام تو شناخت کی نشانی ہیں اور ہماری کوئی شناخت ہے ہی نہیں تو پھر نام ہوئے بھی تو کیا، نہ ہوئے تو کیا۔ ایک چھوٹی سی چھاﺅنی میں کہ اس وقت چھاﺅنیاں چھوٹی ہی ہوتی تھیں، آج کی طرح پورے کا پورا شہر چھاﺅنی نہیں ہوتا تو اس چھوٹی سی چھاﺅنی میں ایک بگل چی رہتا تھا، اس کے بگل پر چھاﺅنی جاگتی تھی، صبح سویرے گہری نیند سوتے فوجی بگل کی آواز پر چونک کر اٹھتے، جلدی جلدی کپڑے...

سورج جب قبرستان کے گھنے درختوں سے الجھتا رینگ رینگ کر اپنے بل میں گھسنے کی کوشش کر رہا تھا۔ مستری نے قبر کا کام مکمل کر لیا۔ پچھلے کئی مہینوں سے اس کی یہ خواہش تھی کہ ماں کی قبر پکی کرائے لیکن خالی جیبیں اس خیال کو تھیتھپا کر آنے والے دن کی جھولی میں ڈال دیتیں، وہ اندر اندر ہی سلگ سلگ کر خیالوں ہی خیالوں میں کبھی اینٹیں کبھی سیمنٹ، کبھی ریت خریدتا، نام کی خوبصورت سی سل بنواتا اور سونے سے پہلے اس خیال کو پوری توجہ سے آنے والے دن کی جیب میں ڈال دیتا۔ بہت دن ہوئے اس کے ڈرائینگ روم میں ایک تصویر تھی۔ اس کا خیال تھا کہ یہ اس کی ماں کی تصویر ہے، لیکن کچھ کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ کوئی خیالی تصویر ہے، تصویر میں ایک عورت غم میں گندھی مسکراہٹ ہونٹوں پر سجائے خالی منظر کو گھور رہی تھی۔ خالی یوں کہ منظر میں جو وادی تھی۔ وہ اپنے دریاﺅں کے باوجود دست بدعا تھی۔ وہ اس تصویر کے بارے میں جاننے کا شوق تو رکھتا تھا اور یہ جاننا چاہتا تھا کہ اس تصویر کی وادی اتنے سارے دریاﺅ کے باوجود کسی بنجر دھند میں لپٹی ہوئی ہے۔ دریاﺅں کا پانی سوکھ کیوں گیا ہے اور زمین کے ہاتھ خالی کیوں ہوئے جارہے ہیں؟ لیکن اس کیلئے اس نے ...
